This was meant to be a blog post about cheap and easy ways to make your flowers last longer, but a spotlight hogging picture loving human(me) hijacked the shoot and made it all about her, selfish much?
In her defense, she invited the flowers to take pictures with her at their own shoot, that should count for something, shouldn’t it? lol!
The lesson here, friends, is a moment is just that, a split second, an instant never to be recovered. A copy cat could come close but never to the slightest detail so why chase copy cats when you can seize the moment. Like Nike says, “just do it.”
…….. Oh yes where was I?
HOW TO KEEP YOUR FLOWERS SLAYING
1.Change the water regularly(use warm water)
This one is super obvious and more of a reminder, the longer your flowers stay in the same water the more bacteria will build up and kill them.
2.Sugar and Bleach
Fill the vase with warm water then add a teaspoon of sugar and a drop of bleach. The bleach acts as an antibacterial agent while the sugar is food for the flowers.
3. Aspirin
Crush a tablet of aspirin and stir it into the water.Aspirin contains Salicylic acid which will help keep the water clean and free from bacteria.
4. Vinegar & Sugar
Add a teaspoon of vinegar and sugar to the warm water. The vinegar will mitigate bacteria where as the sugar will act as food.
5.Copper coins
Adding a number of copper coins to the warm water is probably the weirdest of the list. The copper is believed to act as an antibacterial agent
I chose to use bleach & sugar, which I must say worked out great. These are my six day old roses looking fabulous, sadly they died on day nine, rest in peace roses.
